POUND (30 min) is a one-of-a-kind core and arm strengthening workout. These routines, inspired by the rhythmic movements of playing the drums, use lightly weighted drumsticks and high energy music to tone your body. Get ready to ROCK YOUR WORKOUT!

Isabel Thayer is from Henderson, NV. She graduated April 2017 from BYU with BS in Exercise Science and a Nutrition Minor. She first did Zumba summer 2014, and “LOVED” the exercise format. The dancing and fun music aspect of Zumba, along with the high intensity cardio, make it a truly fun workout.
She started teaching Zumba in fall 2014 and POUND in 2015 after seeing a video of it. In fact, she was part of the FIRST instructor training in UT! “The explosiveness of POUND is what got me hooked.”
She loves being outdoors, reading, dancing, singing (she was in the BYU Women’s Chorus for 4 years, president for 2 years), and listening to good music. “Without fail, I feel better physically and emotionally after a Zumba or POUND class than I did before the class.”

“I’ve been to Zumba a couple times, but this one was more focused on cardio AND your core! It’s more engaging and one on one. When I think of going to the gym, I don’t think of a pleasurable experience. But here, I can dance and just sweat it out and have fun!”
